Governor General Award

The Cumberland Museum and Archives, along with Working Committee for events marking the 100th Anniversary of the Death of Albert Ginger Goodwin, is excited to announce that we have received the Governor General’s History Award for Excellence in Community Programming! Learn more.

Many thanks to participants, volunteers, the Miners Memorial Choir, the Village of Cumberland, TheatreWorks Centre for Performing Arts, Fox&Bee, The Update Company and our sponsors; especially our Title Sponsor BCGEU. You all played a role in making the anniversary so meaningful and moving as we paid tribute through participatory art and music projects, the exhibit ‘Goodwin’s Reach’, an arts symposium, the re-enactment of Goodwin’s funeral procession and more.
